Same weekend, different holiday

1–3 May is a long weekend in QLD and the NT — but not for the same public holidays: QLD for Labour Day; the NT for May Day.
It matters more than a trivia note. A national employer running one roster across those states is covering different public holidays on the same calendar days, and the penalty rates follow the holiday, not the date.
Long weekends only part of a state gets
The table above answers for whole states, because a holiday that covers one district is not a state's long weekend. But it is still a long weekend for the people it covers — and in May 2027 there is one.
